Blue Heron Farm specializes in hunters, jumpers, and equitation. We pride ourselves on providing a safe, positive atmosphere that builds community and the love of horses. All ages are welcome and we offer many opportunities to compete in horse shows of all levels as well as horse care clinics and camps. Above all, we have fun!

We have a variety of school horses for all types of riders. We offer leases and split leases to help you on your way to horse ownership. Our horses range from small ponies to seasoned show horses. We firmly believe in size appropriate matches and always keep safety as a #1 priority. We are able to accommodate the first time riders as well as the serious show competitor.

Ages: Lessons start at 5 yrs old. 5 and under may be accommodated but only in a private lesson setting.

Introductory Package: $95
This is for the first time student. There will be two, hour long, private lessons to familiarize the student with our policies and the basics of riding. Tacking up and grooming the horse is part of this lesson.

Group Lessons: $40
A group lesson is anywhere from two to six riders in a class. We match up lessons based on age and experience. Lessons go 45 minutes to an hour depending on the number of students in a class.

Private Lesson: $60
A private lesson is 45 minutes long.

Lease (partial and full)
Our lease program is done on a custom basis depending on the needs of the student and the horses available. We have many quality school horses to choose from or we can help you find a great match outside of the barn as well. Partial leases start at $350/month.

Working Students
Our working student program is an excellent way to get involved in the barn's day to day program as well as help defray the costs of horses. Students are chosen at our discretion and run as a job. We expect high quality work and give many benefits to those who jump in with both feet!

Horse Shows:
Blue Heron Farm attends 7 schooling shows a year to prepare students for bigger "A" rated horse shows. These shows accommodate the young beginner rider from walking only, on up. This is a great way for students to test their knowledge away from home. We have a great team of students and families that help everything run smoothly!

Therapeutic Riding:

Blue Heron Farm has a long history running programs for people with disabilities. Whitney has coached an equestrian Special Olympics team and completed many training programs. Her current focus is the effect of horses on students with Aspergers. We have seen a lot of success and are excited to learn more about the therapeutic benefits of horses and riding.
