Welcome to Blue Heron Farm!
Blue Heron Farm, located in Poulsbo, WA offers training and instruction in hunters, jumpers, and equitation for all levels of riding. We emphasize the bond between horse and rider, and our goal is to get people hooked on riding. Ruel Johnson has owned Blue Heron Farm for over 20 years and has watched both of her daughters grow up riding and competing. Our students come from Poulsbo, Bainbridge, and the greater Seattle area. We are a quick 20 minute drive from the Seattle/Bainbridge ferry terminal.

Blue Heron Farm competes in all levels of horse shows: from schooling shows on the island to “A” circuit shows in Canada, Oregon, and Washington. While we enjoy the competitive aspect of the sport, we also appreciate the community in the barn and the passion for the horse. Our summer camps and lesson programs emphasize horsemanship and care as well as general knowledge about the sport. Horseback riding is a great way to teach kids about responsibility and character.
