Ruel Johnson, 
Owner and Head Trainer


Ruel Johnson has been involved with horses her whole life and has maintained her passion for teaching by owning Blue Heron Farm for over 20 years. Before Blue Heron Ruel worked in Oregon and California for several prestigious trainers. Ruel’s riders have gone on to win many state championships, world hunter rider championships, as well as riding and teaching professionally. Ruel maintains local involvement and finds importance in programs such as therapeutic riding. She has a love of the show horse and finds her greatest passion is to safely get people hooked on riding.



Whitney (Miller) Coudray, Assistant Trainer and Instructor


Whitney grew up in Boise, Idaho and fell in love with teaching riding in high school and decided to pursue that passion in college. She completed her major in equine science at William Woods University in 2008. Whitney was president of the hunter/jumper show team and spent time in Kentucky, Virginia, Kansas, and Missouri competing and working for various trainers including internationally accomplished trainer Patty Stovel. She also was involved with Special Olympics and other therapeutic riding programs.
